Create an agent key
Create a private agent key with the minimum access that your application needs.
An agent key is a secret credential for direct Beacon automation. Each key belongs to one user and workspace.
Agent keys for direct automation require a Growth, Team, or Business plan. Hosted MCP connections are available on every active plan, including Free.
Create the key
- Open Settings in Beacon.
- Select Developer.
- Find Direct automation.
- Enter a Key name.
- Select only the required permissions.
- Select Create agent key.
- Copy the key from Copy this agent key now.
Beacon shows the complete key one time. Store it in a secret manager.
Choose permissions
Available controls are:
- Read channels
- Read schedule
- Read Media library
- Read posts
- Create posts
- Generate with AI
Create separate keys for separate services. Revoke a key when you no longer need it.
