# Publishing statuses

Understand each publishing status and take the safe next action when a result needs attention.

Beacon shows a result for each channel. One post can have different results across its channels.

## Normal statuses

| Status         | Meaning                                          |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| **Draft**      | Beacon saved the post without a scheduled time.  |
| **Scheduled**  | Beacon will try to publish at the selected time. |
| **Publishing** | Beacon started publishing the post.              |
| **Published**  | The platform confirmed the post.                 |

A successful result can include **View live post**. Use that link to open the post on its platform.

## Statuses that need attention

| Status                  | Safe next action                                    |
| ----------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| **Reconnect**           | Reconnect the affected channel.                     |
| **Trying again**        | Wait until the shown time before another check.     |
| **Some parts missing**  | Open the post and review each part.                 |
| **Publish time missed** | Open the post and choose a new action.              |
| **Not published**       | Read the platform message and correct the problem.  |
| **Check result**        | Check the platform before you try to publish again. |

**Check result** means Beacon cannot confirm whether the post is live. Do not send the same post again until you check it on the platform.
