Create your account, create a workspace, connect a channel, and prepare your first post.

Use this guide to create an account, create a workspace, and prepare your first post.

## Create your account

1. Open Beacon.
2. Select **Create account**.
3. Enter **Your name**, **Email address**, and **Password**.
4. Select **Create account**.
5. Verify your email if Beacon requests verification.

## Create a workspace

A workspace keeps one brand's posts, channels, members, and settings together.

1. Enter a **Workspace name**.
2. Select **Create workspace**.

Beacon opens Dayboard after it creates the workspace.

## Connect a channel

1. Open **Channels**.
2. Select **Add an account**.
3. Choose a platform.
4. Sign in to the platform and allow the access Beacon requests.
5. Confirm that the account appears under **Ready to publish**.

A connected account can appear under **Draft only**. That account cannot publish directly yet.

## Prepare your first post

1. Open **Compose**.
2. Choose one or more **Destinations**.
3. Enter the **Post copy**.
4. Select **Draft**.
5. Select **Save draft**.

Beacon saves the post without scheduling or publishing it.
